These large, sharp, deep purple-blue crystals are often called "Tanzanite Fluorites" in China for their unusual strong color, and that they do change color between sunlight and internal light to different hues ranging from blue-purple to purple. This is a large crystal measuring in at just over two and a quarter inches across that displays cube and dodecahedral forms and great zoning! The interior is completely transparent with a rich medium purple color and all of cube faces exhibit a very dark purple-blue zone that extends a few millimeters into the surface and is restricted to only that face! The bottom of the piece shows that the crystal was dislodged by pocket rupture and now has a lightly textured rehealed flat surface. This texture can be seen through this gem crystal on the display side resulting in a wonderful combination of color and texture. These came out in 2017, and not since. Fascinating specimen, because it is so thin that it shows such great translucency!
