Arsenopyrite is a widespread mineral at the Yaogangxian mine and in the last 10 years amazing specimens of this species have come to the market.
Crystals occur in a variety of habits but the most prevalent are flat and ‘diamond’ shaped---reminiscent of the Mexican specimens of days gone by---and are found either singly on quartz or in groups to 20 cm or more with individual crystals reaching 10 cm. Commonly associated species include quartz, fluorite, muscovite, calcite, cassiterite, scheelite, and stannite.
